Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D)

Dr. Hafeez Basha did his Ph. D in Advanced Technology from the Graduate School of Science and Technology, Kumamoto University a Top Global Public University which is recognized as a Research University (RU-22) in Japan. He was the recipient of the prestigious Monbukagakusho Scholarship by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Government of Japan. He also got an opportunity to attend Winter School at Blaise Pascal University, France, and Summer School at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam. He is credited for receiving the highest funding in the form of Travel Grants. Even on the day of convocation, he was rewarded with the “Dean’s Award for Research Excellence”. During his stay at the campus, he was the coordinator for Research and Development at Kumamoto University International Students Association (KUMISA) and was also part of the Lunch Time English Program for Japanese students to practice English conversation. He was also resource person at Free Talk – The English Saloon. He introduced a magazine called SMART that even appeared in local Japanese Newspapers.

Master of Technology (M. Tech)

He did his M. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) from Acharya Nagarjuna University a public state university of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. He was sponsored entirely by Thomson Reuters Corporation under the “Learn While You Earn Program” when he was working there as a Research Analyst. He was supervised by Prof. Niraj Upadhayaya (Ph. D from University of the West of England) and published research papers in SCI / SCOPUS Indexed International Journals and Conference Proceedings. He was also presented with “Young Scientist Award” by Minister Shri. Hasan Miyanlal Mushrif in March 2010.

Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech)

He did his B. Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) from Shadan College of Engineering and Technology which is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU Hyderabad). He was supported by the Merit-cum-Means Scholarship from Minority Welfare Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh. He was instrumental in establishing IEEE Student Branch at college campus and organized National Symposium PADAM-2007 which was inaugurated by Padma Shri B. L. Deekshatulu, Former Director, ISRO-NRSC and technically sponsored by the IEEE Hyderabad Section.

Intermediate

He did his Intermediate studies in Maths, Physics and Chemistry (MPC) from Gowtham Junior College, Electronics Extension Complex, ECIL. He appeared for the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) which is now called Joint Entrance Examination (JEE – Main) where he scored well and secured a seat at Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-Allahabad) but his parents insisted him to remain in Hyderabad. He also got ranks in Engineering, Agricultural & Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET); Planning Coordination & Monitoring Board (PCMB’s) Minority Engineering & Medical Common Entrance Test (MEMCET); etc. and took admission to study Engineering.

Schooling

He studied at St. Joseph’s High School, Trimulgherry which is managed by the Hyderabad Archdiocese Social Service Society (HASSS). He stood 3rd in Maths Olympiad, Hyderabad and won many prizes in drawing & painting competitions. He was there in the school choir to sing songs and participated in dance, skit drama and other cultural activities especially in the annual day celebrations. He was there in school cricket team as wicket keeper and played tournaments with other schools under HASSS. He completed A-Certificate in National Cadet Corps (NCC) and even attended military training camp at Golconda Artillery Centre.
