Parents
Dr. R. Hafeez Basha’s ancestors originally hailed from Ranipet, near Vellore, in the erstwhile Madras State (now Tamil Nadu) before migrating to Srikalahasti, now part of the Tirupati District in Andhra Pradesh. His paternal grandfather, Mr. Abdul Raheem, served as a Block Development Officer and later as a Tahsildar (Mandal Revenue Officer), while his maternal grandfather, Mr. Mohammed Ismail, retired as Deputy Director of the Government Press, Andhra Pradesh. Dr. Basha’s father, Mr. R. Imroz Basha, had a distinguished career as a senior official at Punjab National Bank, and his mother, Mrs. Noorunnisa, worked as a high school teacher. Both are now retired and serve as wellness coaches at Herbalife Nutrition, specializing in weight loss, Ayurvedic nutrition, and personal care products. His uncles also had notable careers Mr. Mubarak Basha retired as Deputy General Manager at Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT), and Mr. Firdose Basha contributed as an Irrigation Engineer in the Telugu Ganga Project in Nellore.

Dr. R. Hafeez Basha was born and raised in Hyderabad, where he completed his education and began his professional career. He married his colleague from Satyam Computers, Ms. Nafeesa Parveen, who hails from Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh, and is the daughter of a police officer. When he moved to Thomson Reuters, she continued her career through the company’s transitions to Mahindra Satyam and later Tech Mahindra. She has been a steadfast supporter of Dr. Basha’s higher education pursuits, accompanying him to Japan and various other countries. Upon their return to India, the couple was blessed with a son, Shaik Haider Basha. She became a homemaker to care for their son and now manages some of the businesses initiated by her husband. Haider is now eight years old and in the third grade, he secured first rank in his class and even won medals for his active participation in sports.

Dr. R. Hafeez Basha’s sister-in-law, Ms. Haseena Parveen, who is Nafeesa’s elder sister, is a school teacher in Star Learners Child Care, Singapore. Her husband, Mr. Abdul Rafi Jani is Senior Project Manager at NCS Group Pte. Ltd. a multinational information technology company headquartered in Singapore. They have two sons: Hakeem Jani, who is currently in intermediate studying at Yishun Innova Junior College, and Harul Jani, who is in his sixth grade at Greenwood Primary School. Nafeesa’s younger brother, Mr. Mohammad Niyazuddin, is working as Head of the Department for Course Management at Executive Counselling and Training Academy (ECTA) a Private Education Institution (PEI) which offers part time counselling courses for adults in Singapore. His wife, Ms. Mohammed Nazreen, an engineering graduate, is a homemaker, and their son, Nehanuddin, is in his second grade at Star Learners.
Friends
Hafeez remains deeply connected with his school and college friends, actively engaging with them through WhatsApp groups and social media, particularly Facebook. He never misses an opportunity to wish them on their birthdays and other special occasions. Despite the absence of an official alumni network from their alma mater, Hafeez took the initiative to reconnect with everyone, organizing alumni reunions to bring childhood friends together and relive cherished memories. Some of the most memorable reunions include gatherings at Absolute Barbecues, Park Lane, Secunderabad, on April 30, 2023; Kritunga Train Restaurant, Habsiguda, on March 12, 2023; The Hyderabad Boat Club, Tank Bund, on January 22, 2023; and an earlier meet at Hotel Pariwar, A.S. Rao Nagar, on November 25, 2018.
